The Damon System is about more than just straight teeth
The Damon System is not just about revolutionary braces and wires; it’s a whole new way of treating patients.
What are Damon braces?
Traditional orthodontic treatment often requires the removal of healthy teeth and/or the use of palatal expanders to make space. This approach can be uncomfortable, takes longer, and can leave a narrower arch and a flat profile.
Damon braces are based on the conventional method of orthodontic treatment, using brackets and archwires; however, whereas traditional braces are tied in with elastics, Damon braces use a slide mechanism to hold the wire, which allows teeth to move more freely, quickly and comfortably.
How do Damon braces work?
The Damon System is centred on passive self-ligating braces. These eliminate the need for elastic or metal “ties”, which means you can experience treatment without tightening. Instead, the sliding mechanism in the braces, which is used to hold the archwires in place, responds to the movement of your teeth, gently guiding them into position. The light, high-technology, shape-memory wires used in Damon self-ligating braces also move teeth faster and require fewer adjustments.
