Halimah MirOrthodontic Therapist - Reading

Halimah joined us in 2018 after qualifying as an Orthodontic Therapist from the University of Warwick. Prior to this she had gained her Dental Nursing, Radiography and Orthodontic Nursing qualifications. Her role consists of assisting patients in all aspects of their orthodontic journey, under the prescription of the prescribing Orthodontist. This includes helping to carry out initial assessments prior to treatment, bonding patients with their orthodontic appliances and also removing their braces (which she rather enjoys doing!). She also ensures to educate and encourage patients throughout their treatment on good oral hygiene and aims for her patients to have the best possible result.
Outside of work, Halimah enjoys reading and traveling with her young family. She also likes to take a holistic approach to health and well-being and likes to use aromatherapy.
Sushila PunOrthodontic Therapist
GDC number: 208394
Sushila completed her NEBDN National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2010, her NEBDN Certificate in Dental Radiography in 2012 and completed NEBDN National Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing in June 2016. She is now an orthodontic therapist and responsible for assisting the orthodontists with treatments and complying with cross infection control procedures. She is also able to take orthodontic records for patients such as impressions, photos and x-rays under the direction of an orthodontist. Sushila also explains treatment plans and options to patients so that they can make an informed decision about embarking on treatment.
Outside of work, Sushila enjoys socialising with friends and family, cooking and cycling.
Kelsie WatsonOrthodontic Therapist

Kelsie qualified as a dental nurse in 2015 and then as an orthodontic therapist in 2019. Her responsibility within the practice is working alongside the Orthodontists, ensuring the patients journey is a smooth and pleasant one.
Outside of work Kelsie enjoys walks with her dog Trevor and watching the latest series on Netflix!

Sara JalloulOrthodontic Therapist – Reading

Sara studied Orthodontic Therapy at University of Central Lancashire and successively qualified from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as an Orthodontic Therapist. Additionally, she holds an honours degree in Dental Technology from Manchester Metropolitan University as well as a Hospital Diploma in Dental Nursing from The Royal London Hospital and Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL.
Sara enjoys working in our patient-led practice, providing a holistic approach to orthodontic journey. She is a talented individual who is enthusiastic and diligent. We are delighted that Sara is part of our team. Outside of work, Sara is an avid swimmer.
Joycee Rebelo – ReadingHead Dental Nurse

Joycee completed her NEBDN Diploma in Dental nursing in 2016. She passed her radiography exam in 2018, her orthodontic nursing exam in 2019 and is currently working towards a qualification in oral health education. Joycee assists the Orthodontist and the therapist with appointments, taking impressions and decontamination of the instruments. She leads and over sees the nursing team and provides training to new members of staff. Joycee is in charge of stock control.
Outside of work Joycee enjoys; spending time with family and friends, watching movies and shopping.
Padma Rana - Reading practiceDeputy Head Nurse
Padma has an NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing, Impressing taking/ iTero scan, Dental Radiography and Orthodontic Nursing certificate. Padma helps to Keep clinical areas and all equipment’s clean, tidy and sterile. Deputy Head Nurse duties and responsibilities, making sure everything is good in a clinical environment. Provide chairside assistance, taking clinical photographs, radiographs, iTero scan and providing best care to the patients in a friendly, generously, helpful and courteous manner. Padma sees lots of adults NHS and Private patients in her own records clinic on Wednesday. Taking X-rays, clinical photographs and iTero scanning.
Outside of work Padma enjoys: Travelling, shopping, cooking, gym, reading books, watching movies and spend quality time with family and friends.
Tika Gurung - Reading practiceDental nurse / Decontamination Lead – Reading

Tika joined the orthodontic centre in 2018 as a trainee dental nurse. She qualified in 2020. Thanks to her hard work and dedication she was appointment our decontamination lead. Alongside this her duties include: providing chair side assistance to the Orthodontists and the therapists during appointments and ensuring the surgeries are stocked correctly. Tika runs a records session as well as assisting the treatment coordinators when required. In addition to being a great member of the team she is also keen to continue her professional development, Tika is currently on a radiography course.
Outside of work Tika enjoys; Travelling, cooking, food blogging on Instagram (tikaguroong) watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
Rusam GurungHead Dental Nurse – Wokingham

Babita GurungDental Nurse - Wokingham

Babita qualified as a Dental nurse in 2017 and joined the Orthodontic centre in 2020. Her role as dental nurse includes: Chairside assistance, maintaining, taking responsibility for the decontamination of instruments and to make sure the patient is well cared.
Outside of work Babita enjoys; Traveling to different countries, reading books, hiking and making new friends.
Beena FarooquiHead Dental Nurse - Bracknell practice

In 2010 Beena completed a dental technician diploma, she also achieved her level 3 diploma in dental nursing in the same year. Beena passed her NEBDN radiography course in 2021. At the Orthodontic Centre Bracknell, Beena’s main responsibilities include assisting the orthodontists & therapists, overseeing the dental nursing team along with being the decontamination lead. Out of work, Beena enjoys watching Netflix, meeting up with family & friends and travelling.
Elizabeth BrownDental nurse - Bracknell practice

Elizabeth qualified as a dental nurse in 2019 and has previously worked in a general dental practice. Elizabeth’s responsibilities include assisting the Orthodontists & Therapists with their clinical work, along with the decontamination of instruments, keeping the surgeries correctly stocked and maintain a friendly chairside assistance to patients.
In Elizabeth’s spare time she enjoys photography & catching up with friends.
Jessica RebeloHead Treatment Coordinator – Reading Practice

Jess completed her NEBDN Diploma in Dental nursing in 2017. She splits her time between nursing and treatment coordinating. Jess is great with new patients and spending time making sure they fully understand their treatment. During her time nurses jess Assists the Orthodontist and the therapist with appointments, taking impressions and decontamination of the instruments.

Charlotte BanksPrivate Patient Treatment Consultant – Reading practice

Charlotte completed her NEBDN National Certificate in Dental nursing in 2015 and a year later passed her impression taking course. In April 2019 Charlotte passed her NEBDN National Certificate in Radiography. When you first make enquiries about private orthodontic treatment it will be Charlotte who help to arrange your first appointment. As a private treatment coordinator, Charlotte's role is to discuss treatment options, treatment plans and payment plans with private patients.
Charlotte ensures patients fully understand their options and next steps. Charlotte also helps to keep our website up to date.
When she is not working Charlotte enjoys reading, shopping, watching Netflix and going on holiday.
Rebecca PartingtonTreatment Coordinator - Wokingham & Bracknell GDC number: 250462
Rebecca completed her NEBDN national diploma in dental nursing in 2014 and went on to gain a BDA qualification in dental radiography in 2015. Rebecca takes time in explaining treatment plans to patients, making them feel comfortable and answering any questions they may have. When Rebecca is not working, she enjoys Reading, Cooking and spending time with family & friends.
Emma MaughanTreatment Coordinator - Wokingham Practice
Emma has worked for the Orthodontic centre for a number of years, she was based in Reading before leaving to have her first baby and returned to work for us in our new Wokingham practice in 2019. When you first make enquiries about private orthodontic treatment it will be Emma who will help to arrange your first appointment. Emma’s role is to discuss treatment options, treatment plans and payment plans with private patients. Emma helps on reception when needed and is in charge of our social media.
When she is not working Emma enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Karen ButlerAccounts Manager and HR
Karen is our go-to person for all things related to accounts, payroll, human resources and calculating units of orthodontic activity.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys reading, shopping and swimming. She also owns a horse.
Nikki SavoryPractice Manager- Reading and Theale Practices

Nikki has been part of The Orthodontic Centre team since 2002 starting out as a Trainee Dental Nurse and eventually progressing to Practice Manager of Reading and Theale in March 2019. Nikki helps to ensure the smooth running of the day to day clinics. Nikki contributes a wealth of knowledge and experience as during her time at the practice, she has had many roles including Head Nurse, Treatment Coordinator and Clinical Lead. Nikki enjoys working at The Orthodontic Centre and hopes to continue working here for many years to come.
Outside of work Nikki enjoys Reading, watching films and spoiling her 2 young nieces.
Dot CardonaDual Site Practice Manager for Wokingham and Bracknell

Dot joined The Orthodontic Centre team in August 2019. With her she brought a wealth of experience across various roles within the dental industry including; dental nursing, treatment coordination, reception management, payroll management and practice management. Dot now manages our Bracknell and Wokingham practices, ensuring compliance and procedure adhesion of the two sites while maintaining a professional and friendly environment for patients and her colleagues.
Outside of work Dot enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, travelling and exploring new places around the world with her husband.
Emma LondonHead Receptionist – Reading practice
Emma over see’s our team of receptionist in Reading. She helps to train all reception staff across our practices. She is in charge of the reception rota and our clinical director’s diary’s here at Reading. Emma helps to answer the phone, book appointments and check and to respond to emails. Emma Is also our first aider.
Emma enjoys; travelling, shopping and spending time with friends.
Katie MenezesReceptionist – Reading practice
Katie Joined the practice in July 2019. Coming from a customer service back ground Katie provides an efficient service to our patients and is always warm and welcoming. Katie’s duties include checking and responding to emails booking appointments and answering calls.
Jemma TaylorHead Receptionist - Bracknell Practice
Part of Jemma’s role is to book appointments, check referrals, send out letters and answering the phones. Jemma joined us at the end of 2019 and understands the reception is the frontline of a patient’ experience; therefore, a calming approach is essential in this role.
Outside of work Jemma Enjoys; Shopping, going to the cinema and reading.
Karen BurnsReceptionist - Bracknell Practice
Karen joined us when we opened in April 2019. She helps to answer the phone, check and respond to emails, process referrals and book appointments. Coming from an Orthodontic background Karen is a great addition to our reception team.
