Meet the team
Louise
carried out her undergraduate training at UCH,
qualifying in 1989. She spent the next three
years gaining experience in the fields of oral
and maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine, orthodontics
and childrens dentistry at a variety of London
hospitals including UCH, St. Mary's and the
Eastman Dental Institute. During this time she
became a Fellow
of the Royal College (Eng). She commenced her
specialist orthodontic training in 1993, acquiring
her MSc in 1995 and Morth (Eng and Edin) in
1996. Louise provides a wide variety of treatment
for both children and adults at the Orthodontic
Centre. Her special interests include adult
orthodontics, combined & multidisciplinary
cases. She is Treasurer of the Specialist Practitioner
Group of the British Orthodontic Society and
sits on Council. Locally she sits on the LDC
and the Oral Health Advisory, Reading BDA &
Local Orthodontic Committees.
Craig
carried out his undergraduate training at Birmingham
Dental Hospital, qualifying in 1982. He became
a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in
1986 and gained experience in the fields of
oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine,
orthodontics, restorative dentistry and implantology
in the hospital setting and general practice
prior to undertaking specialist orthodontic
training at Guy's Hospital. He attained his
MSC, DOrth and MOrth in 1991, accrediting as
a Consultant orthodontist in 1995. He was appointed
at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 1996. Craig
carries out private work at the Orthodontic
Centre on Saturday mornings, specialising in
adult orthodontics and multidisciplinary cases
and is a partner at the Briar's Dental Centre
in Newbury. He spends the majority of his time
as the Consultant at the Royal Berks where he
teaches, treats complex cases, advises referring
practitioners and is involved in cleft &
surgical cases.
I
gained my undergraduate dental qualification
from Leeds in 1996. Following this I worked
in general dentistry in locations as far as
Australia and Malaysia, as well as the more
familiar London. I then underwent my postgraduate
orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Institute
in London and acquired my MSc in 2001. I look
forward to continue serving the patients and
dental community of the area for years to come.
Dr. Jose R.
Souza DDS (Brazil) DU-Ortho (France)
Jose
qualified as a Dental Surgeon in Rio De Janeiro,
Brazil in 1996. He worked in Oral Surgery until
1998, when he started his post graduate diploma
in paediatric orthodontics at the university
of Paris and the Eastman Institute of Paris.
Since 2001 he has been working full time providing
orthodontic treatment for adults and children
in Brazil, France and now in the UK. He has
been working here at the Orthodontic Centre
since January 2005.
Chaw-Su Kyi
I qualified in dentistry with Distinction at Guy’s Hospital. Following V.T. training, I gained experience in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at University College Hospital and Paediatric Dentistry at Great Ormond Street Hospital. During this time I gained my MFDS RCS(England). Following this, I started my post-graduate orthodontic training at The Royal London and Ipswich Hospitals, where I gained My MSc with Distinction and passed MOrth (England). I have recently been awarded Best Forerunner Poster Prize at the recent World Orthodontic Conference. I am also currently working at East Grinstead Hospital.
Dr Jas Panesar
I qualified in dentistry at Liverpool University and subsequently took up hospital posts there in the departments of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Paediatric and Restorative dentistry. During this time I gained my Fellowship in Dental Surgery (Royal College of Surgeons of England). I then pursued my postgraduate orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental and the Royal Berkshire Hospital. I gained my MSc with distinction and and passed my Morth a year later, winning the Intercollegiate Gold Medal. I am currently Senior Specialist Registrar in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute and the Mayday University Hospital.
Ricardo qualified in Dentistry from the College of Medicine at Coimbra, Portugal in 2000, and finished his post-graduate orthodontic training in 2003 at Gnathos in Lisbon, Portugal. In Lisbon, he worked in general dentistry in private practices always with the interest on cosmetic dentistry and started working in Orthodontics in 2002. He has been in the UK since January 2005 and has worked in both Bristol and Brighton. He is now based in London and working in the Orthodontic Centre in Reading.
David
qualified from King's in December 1980. After
a spell in general practice in Chichester, he
joined the general duties rotation in Glasgow
and obtained the FDS. In 1986 he returned to
King's for specialist training in orthodontics,
obtaining the D.Orth, Msc. and later the M.Orth.
After a period at UCH he joined the Erleigh
Road team in June 1991, working part time in
hospital posts in West Sussex. David works at
the Orthodontic Centre four days a week. He
continues as an Associate Specialist one day
a week at Worthing Hospital, and is involved
in the treatment of orthodontic patients undergoing
orthognathic surgery.
