Aftercare
Orthodontic treatment requires excellent cooperation between the orthodontist and the patient.
1. You will need to see your own dentist for regular check-ups whilst your braces are being worn.
2. It is very important to attend all your appointments. If appointments are missed, treatment may take longer than planned.
3. You will need to keep your teeth and appliances very clean. Avoid hard, sticky sugary foods and sparkling drinks.
4. In addition to your fixed or removable brace, you may be asked to wear rubber bands (‘elastics’), headgear or both.If so, these must be worn exactly as instructed.
5. You may be asked to sign a consent form to say that you understand what treatment involves and you will adhere to any
advice given. This is a normal procedure.
